Kaushik Dutta’s love for music began at an early age. This passion developed into a professional reputation for playing, scoring, designing and recording music. Kaushik is a versatile musician
and plays a number of Indian and Middle Eastern instruments. He has conducted musical performances and composed songs for more than two hundred and fifty performers across the globe and four hundred children respectively. He has also composed music for Hindi feature films, short films, documentaries, theatre and dance theatre projects. Kaushik worked as a
musician and composer with internationally acclaimed director Tim Supple and has performed and toured extensively abroad.
In the late 80’s he founded Song of Soul a nonprofit organization and since then have been working with folk musicians around the world. He is also the founder and Artistic Director of the
most prominent music festival of India the ‘Kolkata International Music Festival’.
Till date the festival has supported more than 1500 distressed folk musicians of India and featured more than 200 renowned international musicians from over 23 countries. He has participated in many collaborative projects, seminars and panel discussions including the jazz master class series organized by the National Arts Centre, Ottawa in collaboration with Manhattan School of Music, USA. He was invited as a visiting tutor at the London Roundhouse, UK and Singapore Music Academy. Kaushik, has been a regular speaker, delegate and panel member for international meets like
Live Singapore, Indian Ocean Music Market, Borneo World Music Expo, Asia Pacific Music Market, South Korea, Tallinn Music Week, Estonia, Showcase Scotland, Seoul Music Week,
Trans Asian Music Meeting, Okinawa, Visa for Music, Morocco, Sharq Tarolanari, Uzbeksitan. He was part of a selected International delegation at Focus Galicia, Spain and ‘Musiconnect Trans
Canada’. He was a jury member for Jazz in Seoul. In 2018, he was appointed as one of the judges for Asian World Music Awards conducted by Culture Foundation, South Korea. He was a
conference speaker and panelist at WOMEX and a Judge at the Inter school drama competition organized by British Council. Presently he is one of the Vice President of Global Music Market
Network and the founder and acting President of ‘MusiConnect Asia’.
He is supporting the independent musicians through his International artist management agency SOS Productions and have been successfully organizing tours in the US, Central Asia,
South East Asia and Europe.
